Steel Grass

It’s Wedding Wednesday and this week we got in some lovely braided steel grass that we couldn’t resist playing with.

 

We were feeling a bit bohemian and transformed the steel grass into a hairband with an accent of pretty gladiola blooms.

We used more steel grass and arranged loops of it atop a clutch bouquet of lavender, light and dark pink roses and surrounded it with a messy collar of ruscus.

Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue... It’s Wedding Wednesday and this week we have your something blue covered.

This bridal bouquet is designed in all blue blooms:  roses, delphinium, iris and baby’s breath. If a bit of blue ribbon on your bridal garter isn’t enough for your wedding’s something blue then this may be the bouquet for you. Sorry, that rhyme what not intentional ;)

Colorful Wedding

It’s Wedding Wednesday and this week we’re feeling colorful!

This clutch bouquet was designed using lavender, orange and coral roses with pops of bright green chrysanthemums and purple lisianthus. We incorporated loops of powder blue ribbon throughout and finished it with a matching bow with streamers. This bouquet offers a fun and vibrant atmosphere for your big day!

Pokémon Go Wedding

It’s Wedding Wednesday and this week we’re dedicating it to Pokémon Go! Chances are that in the last week or so you’ve heard the word Pokémon more than a few times, and with good reason… the game Pokémon Go has exploded onto the scene in the U.S. with more active users a day than any other app ever. Some of us here at Stein Your Florist became Pokémon masters way back in 1996 and some of us are just starting to “catch em all,” but either way we’re having a blast!

Our Philadelphia location at 7059 Frankford Ave. has been designated a Pokémon Gym (one of the strongest in our area), bringing Pokémon Go trainers of all ages to our flower shop to battle and “be the very best, like no one ever was” (yes, we know all the words to the theme song).

We have embraced our gym status, hiring a local artist to paint one of our entrances with plant Pokémon and, of course, Pikachu, to welcome all to our Pokéoasis. The community LOVES it and we have regulars stopping by daily to win control of the gym or catch a rare Pokémon or two. There are also a few Pokéstops nearby too to replenish your supplies or throw in a lure module.

With all the Pokémon fun we designed a Pokéball bridal bouquet using hydrangea, carnations and a rose surrounded by a collar of ti leaves. We love theme weddings and we can hardly wait to design our first real Pokémon themed wedding for the happy couple that is ready to say “I choose you,” and we mean to each other, not Pikachu ;-)

Bridal Cascade

It’s Wedding Wednesday again!

This week we’re sharing a beautiful bridal bouquet designed as a traditional cascade of flowing flowers and foliage. Our designer used Casablanca lilies, cream roses, star of Bethlehem, lisianthus, miniature calla lilies, stock flower, and baby’s breath. Plumosa and fern were incorporated among the flowers and long blades of lily grass trailed through the bouquet, lengthening it, adding elegance.

Wedding Ambiance

Guess what day it is… It’s Wedding Wednesday! You were thinking hump day, weren’t you? ;)

This week we have a petite and colorful bridesmaid’s bouquet that will really pop against a myriad of dress colors. This clutch was designed in hot pink roses, purple lisianthus, baby’s breath, and one of our favorite roses, “ambiance” roses. These “ambiance” roses are beautiful with their light yellow hue and reddish coral edges; they have a large bloom size and a high petal count making them even more appealing.

Pop of Purple

It’s Wedding Wednesday!

For the last week of June, National Rose Month, we wanted to share a bouquet that features roses, so this week’s bridal bouquet is a clutch of beautiful tightly gathered white roses with pops of plum and purple in the form of button pom pons and statice. So simple and yet so elegant. The white roses matched the bride’s gown, while the pops of color accented her bridesmaids’ dresses. This bouquet is a lovely example of adding color while remaining traditional.

Rose and Peony Bridal Bouquet

Wedding Wednesday is here again!

This week’s bridal bouquet is a large round clutch bouquet of lovely fluffy flowers. We gathered white hydrangea and calla lilies with big pink peonies, orange spray roses and lavender, peach and pink roses into a lavish bouquet. Subtle touches of baby’s breath and seeded eucalyptus were incorporated throughout for added color and texture. This is a BIG bouquet, but its impact is soft and romantic.

Blushing Bride

It’s Wedding Wednesday! We hope you enjoyed our prom bouquets the last four weeks. This week we’re back to true wedding bouquets; though we wouldn’t be surprised if someone requested one for prom.

This week’s bouquet is flush with opulent blush pink roses. Our designer gathered them tightly into a perfectly round clutch bouquet. So simple and so elegant. A silver wrap around the stems finishes the bouquet with sparkling beauty.

Purple Prom

We’ve dedicated the last few Wedding Wednesdays to prom bouquets fabulous enough to be wedding bouquets and as prom season comes to a close we’re bringing you one last week of prom flowers with two pretty purple clutches.

The first bouquet features blooms in purples, lavenders and pinks; a gathering of liatris, stock, statice, sweet William, goditia and roses.

The second bouquet is designed in purples and burgundy and consists of liatris, goditia, carnations, roses, alstroemeria, and beautiful cymbidium orchids.

Perfectly Pink Prom

It’s Wedding Wednesday again and we’re dedicating another wedding week to a fabulous prom bouquet. As we mentioned last week, prom flowers are getting more and more elaborate and we could easily see them in the hands of brides and bridesmaids.

This week’s prom clutch bouquet is a lovely gathering of gerbera daisies, carnations, hybrid lilies, roses, lisianthus and a touch of baby’s breath. It is perfectly pink; a beautiful match for pink prom gowns or a wonderful pop of color against classic black or trendy slate gray.

Prom Wednesday

It’s Wedding Wednesday and here comes the… Prom date!? More and more often high school students, excited for their senior prom, are trying to outdo each other with the most fabulous prom bouquet. These bouquets are so beautiful they could be carried by any bride on her big day! So for the next few weeks, while we are at the peak of prom season, we will be dedicating our Wedding Wednesdays to some fantastic prom bouquets!

 This week’s prom clutch bouquet is created in soft pastel tones; pink and peach roses, white calla lilies, mauve tulips, white hydrangea and blush hypericum berries are surrounded by a collar of lemon leaves and loops of bear grass.

The bouquet is finished with a wrap of silver over the stems layered with peach ribbon the compliment the dress.

Courthouse Wedding

We missed you!! Sorry we neglected the last few Wedding Wednesdays… We’re back!

This week’s bridal bouquet is from a simple and sweet springtime courthouse wedding. Lavender roses, ivory spray roses, white carnations, and cream hypericum berries are accented by touches of limonium, baby’s breath, baby blue eucalyptus and a few sparkly pebble gray crystals.

Artistic Wedding Flowers

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! As promised, this week we’re sharing more from the beautiful wedding reception at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

The PAFA is such a unique venue with wonderfully eclectic art and the couple wanted to translate that into their reception centerpieces. Each arrangement was designed to be different from the others, while still lending a cohesive look throughout the venue.

The main reception room tables were adorned in beautiful white and green flowers. The feature flowers in the bouquets are white phalaenopsis orchids, green cymbidium orchids, casablanca lilies, white roses, ivory hypericum berries, and green hanging amaranthus.

In an adjoining gallery, cocktail tables had their own unique centerpieces as well, though they were designed in beautiful bold purples and greens. Green cymbidium orchids, green hydrangea, deep purple stock, lavender lisianthus, purple mokara and dendrobium orchids, and green hanging amaranthus were featured in these arrangements.

Throughout all the rooms amazing foliage was incorporated for a very lush and lavish look. Variegated pittosporum, zebra striped leaves, seeded eucalyptus, sansevieria, springeri, dusty miller, emerald, ti leaves, blades of lily grass and giant elephant ear philodendron are among the many varieties included in the centerpieces.

Finally, curly willow branches were used for texture and drama, curving over the tops of some arrangements and reaching for the sky in others.

Art was truly prominent throughout this reception, on the walls and on the tables. It was a true joy to design these unique arrangements for such a joyous occasion.
